All-Terrain Wheelchair (1 Day)

Our all-terrain wheelchair is available to borrow on Islay and Jura. The wheelchair allows access to many beautiful beaches and paths which otherwise might be out of reach and is suitable for adults and children up to a weight of 120kgs. There are 2 sets of tyres for the wheelchair , standard double wheel tyres or balloon tyres for deep sand. There is also the option of adding on arm rests for users that require a bit more support.
Available Dates
• Please watch our short demonstration video before assembling or dismantling the chair. Users should not exceed the maximum weight of 120 kg, 19 stone. • Note the use of the all-terrain wheelchair is at your own risk, ensure it is suitable for your needs before use. • Please ensure the person going to push the chair is fit enough to do so. • Do not use it on roads. • If entering the sea: the chair must always be held by an able-bodied adult and must only be used in calm waters. Please be aware that the balloon tyres will float, do not exceed water levels deeper than the middle of the wheels (approx. 15cm) • To prevent corrosion, wash down with fresh water after using it in the sea. • The wheelchair bag is bulky and a tight fit, you may find it easier to have the wheelchair part assembled in the car rather than taking it to the beach in the bag.
